About us:
Mountain Kidz Klub is a not-for-profit organization located on the East Mountain providing low cost children's programs, adult programs and a food bank. We use the Eastmount Community Centre as our primary location but also do events at Mountain Drive Park and Peace Memorial Park. We encourage youth in our community to respect themselves and each other and we encourage the members of our community to not let economic status change the fact that we are all neighbours.
Mountain Kidz programs reach groups of various sizes. Regular children's programs will host 5-20 children depending on the activity. Program schedules vary between 2-5 days per week depending on the season. Larger community events will reach families throughout the city and surrounding areas for participation between 50-300 people. Food bank services remain a constant need throughout the year and will peak during the Christmas season to serve hundreds families.
While our organization manages to provide many community services, we remain limited in our ability due to no official funding. Support from our municipal and provincial representatives has allowed our program to remain active and efforts are made within the community to encourage sponsorships of well known events such as our annual Easter Egg Hunt. While our program is located on the East Mountain, we know that in reaches Hamiltonians and beyond. We hope you will recognize the value our program brings to the community and find this an opportunity to participate in what we do.
